2010 Seventh Annual Historic Home & Garden Tour The Lake Morton Neighborhood Association is excited to announce that the Seventh Annual Historic Home & Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. This self-guided walking or trolley tour is open to the public and will feature about 12 homes and gardens in the South and East Lake Morton historic district. Because several homes have porches with stairs, not all tour locations are handicap-accessible. The tour will begin at 11 am and is accessible by foot or trolley. It will showcase examples of several different architectural styles such as the Federal Colonial Revival style, the English Arts and Crafts Tudor style, the Mediterranean Revival Style, and several Craftsman bungalows. Homeowners and greeters will be on hand at the tour homes to welcome participants and answer questions. New this year is a collaboration with the Downtown Lakeland Partnership and Historic Lakeland. A trolley stop will be incorporated in downtown Lakeland allowing tour participants to enjoy the shops and restaurants before or after the tour. Historic Lakeland has agreed to showcase one of the historic downtown buildings as well. This event is made possible through the generosity of LMNA’s tour sponsors. LMNA also wishes to thank the gracious tour homeowners, LMNA’s supportive membership and the many volunteers who make this such an enjoyable Lakeland event. Ticket are available for purchase for $12 at Brooke Pottery, Fast Frame and Home Essentials in Downtown Lakeland. Homeowners interested in showing their home or those wishing to assist with the tour are asked to contact Katy Gerritt or call her at 863-680-3417. |
