2012 Ninth Annual Historic Home & Garden Tour

The Lake Morton Neighborhood Association is excited to announce that the Ninth Annual Historic Home & Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. This self-guided walking or trolley tour is open to the public and will feature about 8 homes and gardens in the South and East Lake Morton historic district. Because several homes have porches with stairs, not all tour locations are handicap-accessible.

The tour will begin at 11 am and is accessible by foot or trolley. It will showcase examples of several different architectural styles such as the Federal Colonial Revival style, the English Arts and Crafts Tudor style, the Mediterranean Revival Style, and several Craftsman bungalows. Homeowners and greeters will be on hand at the tour homes to welcome participants and answer questions.

Visitors will begin at the Polk Museum of Art where they can purchase tour tickets for $15.00 (cash or check at all locations, please). Ticket holders will also enjoy the opportunity to view the museum exhibits free of charge the day of the tour. Open air trolleys will shuttle tour guests to the twelve homes and gardens as well as a historic sanctuary.
