Adopt-a-Lake

LMNA Adopt-A-Lake

The Lake Morton Neighborhood Association participates in the Adopt-A-Lake Program .

The program works in cooperation with Lakeland Clean & Beautiful and Lakeland Vision to implement a strategy to preserve and improve our lakes water quality as well as shoreline aesthetics.

Activities include:

  • Litter Pickup
  • Stormdrain Plaque Installation
  • Planting Beneficial Vegetation
  • Water Quality Monitoring

Adopt-A-Lake is a national program, and you can find small, unobtrusive, Adopt-A-Lake signs posted throughout Lakeland (Lake Beulah, Lake Bonny, Lake Mirror, Lake Parker).

The City of Lakeland provides the equipment (bags, gloves, vests, etc.) while dedicated volunteers provide the help to remove debris. To date the Lakeland program has removed over nine tons of trash and debris from primarily urban lakes in Lakeland.

Thank you for taking an interest in protecting our lovely Lake Morton.

Check out our calendar of events for the next Adopt-a-Lake Clean-Up Event.

See the City of Lakeland Adopt-a-Lake for more information regarding the program.
