Information: The LMNA President is a one-year volunteer position that oversees all functions of LMNA. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Present a positive attitude of teamwork and professionalism in all activities related to LMNA.
• Develop a high level of visibility within the community as a leader for positive community relations.
• Oversee and drive the highest possible level of professional excellence in all publications and advertising.
• Drive all monthly board meetings and group meetings.
• Craft the group meeting schedule on a yearly basis.
• Organize the speakers for the group meetings.
• Develop board and group meeting agendas.
• Obtain donated raffle items and gift certificates for group meetings and other events as needed from area businesses.
• Obtain community sponsorships for public events such as the Historic Home and Garden Tour.
• Promote LMNA business members through advertising and sponsorships.
• Develop the yearly membership survey, mailed in late summer, to serve as an important tool in guiding the following year’s meeting, event and programming schedules.
• Work with the board to create the upcoming yearly calendar during a fall planning session.
• Reserve meetings rooms and College Heights Commons Park for yearly activities by completing the necessary request forms and waivers.
• Compose the President’s Letter and any other articles as needed for LMNA publications.
• Edit final draft of ShoreLines and return to Newsletter Editor with changes and suggestions.
• Provide quarterly articles for the ECHO newsletter produced by the City of Lakeland Community Development department.
• Attend quarterly meetings held by the City of Lakeland Neighborhood Association Coalition.
• Locate and drive any grants which may help to reach the objectives of LMNA.
• Aid in membership and volunteer staff recruitment and retention.
• Supervise Board Members and Coordinators and assist where necessary in helping them achieve their responsibilities and goals.
• Responsible for directing staff nominations and voting. Responsible for completing position responsibilities for absent staff members.
• Share accountability for maintaining all LMNA budgets.
• Sign requests for reimbursement to be forwarded by the Treasurer.
• Assist and maintain collaboration with organizations, agencies and businesses in the community that help to reach the objectives of LMNA.
• Maintain LMNA archival materials.
• Store the LMNA table, banner, sponsor signs, yard signs and other miscellaneous LMNA materials as needed. As much as possible, try to reuse these materials from year-to-year. Forward these materials to the next President at end of term.
