September 2006 - 509 Riggins St

From the moment you step onto Mike and Terri Noble's welcoming porch, you feel the love that they have for their 1925 Craftsman bungalow. This September Home of the Month is located at 509 Riggins Street. The couple bought their 4 bedroom 2 bath, 1750 square foot home from the Lattimers in May 2002 and moved in during Mayfaire, no easy feat! They have been busy ever since, accomplishing many projects, including painting all of the rooms happy, bold colors. Eclectic and interesting art work adorn their walls, including art from each year that they attend Mayfaire. Along with the painting, Mike and Terri refinished the original wood floors and recently installed a new dining room wood floor. They gutted the upstairs master bath, installed new tile, a royal blue vanity, and a garden tub. Mike, who is 6"6, vaulted the ceiling to accommodate his height. They have recently enclosed a back screen porch and turned it into an indoor laundry room. The guest bath had 12 layers of wallpaper that could not be removed so Terri did a plaster finish over them. The bath features florals and aqua blue tile. Beautiful shell art from Mayfaire hangs in the window The kitchen that Terri affectionately refers to as the "Crayola Kitchen" dons yellow and royal blue painted cabinets. Her favorite saying "Live Laugh Love" appears here and elsewhere throughout their home. The Nobles' quaint backyard space features a lovely deck that steps down into their garden. It is Terri's dream to have a jacuzzi or small pool one day. Mike, a construction superintendent with Creative Contractors at LRMC and whose hobby is cycling and Terri, a surgical technologist for a local dermatologist, whose hobby is decorating, love living in their historical home. They are the proud parents of three grown children and grandparents of six. Currently they share their home with two golden retrievers, Baily and Shelby and their cat, Shadow. The Nobles never want to move and hope to live happily ever after in their home sweet home!
