The March Home-of-the-Month is one of the newest homes in our historic district. Newlyweds Taylor and Jessica Goldsmith took an empty lot and built a house that looks as though it has been a part of the neighborhood for many years. Taylor, a trimwork carpenter, did most of the construction, which began in May 2005, himself. This three bedroom, two and a half bath home blends older character touches including hardwood floors and meticulous trimwork with modern conveniences such as Corian countertops in the kitchen, a soaking tub in the master bathroom, and large his and her walk-in closets. Together with his mother, Taylor designed the home to combine a 2006 floor plan with a 1906 front facade. The upper and lower level decks definitely catch your eye when driving down Winfree Avenue and make a great place for the Goldsmiths to sit, drink tea, and enjoy the neighborhood activity. The couple moved in just three weeks ago and plan to hang window treatments and complete their landscaping.
